Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Madalynn but everyone calls me Mady. Soccer is a big part of my life and has been since I was born. My whole family plays and we have a passion for the beautiful game. I am a very driven individual, and have high goals for myself both athletically and academically. I am looking for a college/university that has a diversified student body, a program for Pre-Med majors and a competitive women's soccer program with a strong passion for challenging its players to be their very best.
I have always given 100+% when it comes to soccer and while I am very serious about soccer, I also like to have fun! In every training session, I try not to only challenge my teammates but myself as well. In games, I love the feeling of making a run down the flank, cutting past several defenders, and being able to cross the ball into the goal.
While moving to a new state is not always fun for a kid, I feel lucky as I have had an opportunity to learn and play in the most competitive environments on both the West and now East Coast. I have had the exciting challenge in not only playing at the highest level with my age group but have also been given the opportunity to play up with older players as well. I have participated at a National and Regional level in many tournaments,ID Showcases, and State/Regional ODP programs throughout my life. I feel I will be an asset to a school's soccer program, both on and off the field for I am a leader who supports and drives my teammates. As a player on the field, I mostly play in a outside mid-field position and center-forward, but routinely move to a zone to defend the ball. I also like to challenge myself at other positions at times.
My collegiate goals are to receive a Bachelor's degree where I plan to major in Biology or a similar program. I have always enjoyed helping others and working with children, and I hope to one day be a Pediatrician. Academically I always strive to make the highest grade possible and have been in the gifted program or taken honors level classes since they were available. I have signed up for AP classes next year and will strive to always have a high GPA.
