I am 16 years old and just finished my junior year at Rockbridge County High School (RCHS). Over the past three years, I was a starter for both varsity basketball and soccer. I was also a starter for the JV team my 8th grade year. Being a successful athlete is an important part of my high school career. As I approach my senior year, I would like to find a college where I can continue to thrive as a student athlete on a soccer team.
As a freshman, I scored 14 goals and had 5 assist for the RCHS Varsity team. I finished my sophomore season with 22 goals and 13 assists and my junior season with 35 goals and 7 assists I am going into my senior year as the all-time leading score for RCHS with a total of 71 goals. I hold the school record for the most assists. My sophomore year and junior year I was selected RCHS Offensive Player of the Year. I was named 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-District my freshman, sophomore, and junior year. In addition, as a sophomore, I made 2nd Team All-Region. This year I was named Blue Ridge District Player of the Year and selected 1st Team All-State. I was the first female soccer player at RCHS to be named player of the year and the first to make the Virginia High School League All-State Team.
I have played club soccer since I was old enough to make a team. For the past two years, I have played in the Soccer Organization of Charlottesville-Albemarle (SOCA). Last year I played on the U-18 elite team. SOCA plays in the clubs very competitive Clubs Champions League.
I am an active member or the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. I served as treasurer for the Spanish Honor Society my junior year and was elected president this year. I enjoy volunteer work. I am member of Project Connection, which is a non-profit organization that connects teens with children in the community who have disabilities. In addition, I am volunteer basketball referee for Rockbridge Area Recreational Organization Youth programs.
I am a strong student with a 3.8 GPA. As a student athlete, I have learned to work hard and manage my time carefully. I have not decided on a major, but I am considering a major in the sciences. I want to enroll in a school with strong academics where I can also play soccer. I typically play the number ten position or some type of center midfield. I am open to playing a different position at the college level. I am the type of player who will do whatever it takes to win, even if it means playing a different position or taking on a different role.
