Ever since I was young, my dad has always known that I would be just like him. He knew that I would come to love sports, but especially soccer. When my dad first introduced me to soccer, I joined a rec team. Ever since then, I’ve fallen in love with the sport, and pushed myself to be better each day. From my experiences while playing soccer, I’ve learned much about myself as a person. I’ve learned that although I’m very emotional and hard on myself, it is only because I care about it very much and expect better from myself. I’ve learned that as a person, I have very high standards for myself not only in soccer, but also in school and academics. I thrive to be the best in the activities that I do, and I thrive to put my best work in everything I’ve done. Not only did I learn a lot about myself from soccer, but I also learned a lot about life itself. One of my coaches taught me that life still goes on even after making mistakes. He said, life might seem to stop for me after making a mistake, but all around me it continued on. He said I had to put it past me and move on. He taught me making a mistake was not the end of the world, but rather it is a stepping stone for me to improve and is a part of life itself.
