Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Emilee Swanson, I am 17 years old and graduate in the class of 2023. Being the second youngest out of five kids I have had tremendous amount of times to look up at my older siblings and learn what a good role model looks like. All of my older siblings played soccer which is the reason I got into playing before falling in love with the sport. When the last of my older siblings moved out of the house when I was around 9 years old I knew I had to become the role model for my younger sister that they had been for me, this helped with my leadership skills on and off the field and gave me great work ethic to be able to help and show my sister how to do many things.

My dad always told me school came before sports which made me focus in school 10x more to make sure I maintain good grades so that I could continue to play sports.... It does get tough to get good grades while playing varsity soccer, basketball, and track for my school, club soccer, and being engaged in 4-h riding my horses and going to the monthly meetings. I have become a great time manager and planner from my busy schedule which I know will help me later on in life and especially in college.

I have always dreamed of playing soccer at the division 1 level and I know that to be able to accomplish this dream I need to put in the extra hard work even when I feel like I don't want to. I have looked up at many national team players for inspiration and then even got in contact with college D1 players for inspiration and their thoughts and story from playing soccer at the high level. I am continuing to put the work in outside of my seasons to reach my dreams of playing collegiate soccer.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
