Personal Statement
My name is Mia Ostergren. I am seventeen years old, currently a senior attending Gig Harbor High school in Washington State. I learned all about life with a ball at my feet. I first stepped on the field at my first soccer game when I was five years old. Little did I know, this was going to be my sport. Soccer has been a major influence both on field and off the field for me to strive and work hard for what I want. In my many years of playing I have developed responsibility, leadership, communication skills used both on and off the field, hard-work, determination, and the love for soccer. I have played everywhere on the field, and am accepting to play any position. A few of my biggest strengths are visualizing the field, versatility, accuracy intuition and strategizing. My stronger foot is my right, but can play with both of my feet as needed and will not hesitate to shoot, pass, or cross with my left foot. I understand what might happen next during a game and can quickly adjust to the situation. I am captain of my club team, and have become a leader of my high school team as well. I am very coachable, and am one of the most hard working players you will find. I have a strong desire to pursue my career in sports medicine and would like to pursue physical therapy or a similar major in college. My goal is to attend a college that will push me both in the classroom and on the field. I am open for all options available and would like to play at a high competition level.
