My name is Ela Wojewoda, I play for Eastside FC G04/05 ECRL in Washington state and i’m a junior at Issaquah High School. I have a 3.9 unweighted GPA and have currently taken 5 honors classes and 3 AP classes. Some things that define me as a player are my positivity, willingness to learn, and work rate. In March of 2019 I tore my acl, meniscus and mcl in boise on a soccer trip. Unlike a lot of other athletes, I was not discouraged but instead saw this as an opportunity to grow. I learned proper strengthening techniques, and over time I not only gained back my lost muscle mass, but far surpassed where I was prior to my injury. I attended every single practice and game, including the game the morning after my surgery. Being on the sidelines was one of the hardest things I could have experienced, but not being there for my team would have been worse. I gained back my fitness and technical abilities at and outside of practice, often getting extra touches with my private trainer or at home. Now, I'm back and I cannot wait to continue my soccer career at the college level. I played on varsity my first year back from injury as a sophomore at my high school, and at the state level, traveled to the odp west championships to represent Washington in January of 2022. I am currently a junior playing varsity soccer for Issaquah High School.
