Hi, my name is Megan Hannah. I have been playing soccer since I was five years old. I have aspired to play at the collegiate level and if I work hard enough I would like to play for an upper division college team. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life.
I am a team leader, been a captain for many of my teams I have played on and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am a driven athlete who is confident yet calm, cool and collected. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find. My coaches will say that I can be called upon to reliably play any position on the pitch, including my Freshman year were I became the starting varsity goalkeeper even though that wasn't my primary position at the time. Since that year, I have dedicated myself to goalkeeping for my school and my club teams. I know I have the skills to help any team succeed with a strong keeper in the goal.
This year, I helped lead my club team to the US Club Soccer National Cup in Colorado and helped my high school team make the playoffs for the third year in a row. I was very honored to receive my third year letter as well as the Most Inspirational Award, which was voted on by my teammates, and the Varsity Coaches Award, which was voted on by the coaches for my attitude, commitment to our team and all-around coachability. I was recognized by other coaches in our very competitive South Puget Sound League 4A conference with an All-Conference Honorable Mention as a Junior Goalkeeper.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I also volunteer for a non-profit organization, Jamie's Heart Foundation, that was founded in memory of my younger sister who died at the age of two due to complications of her congenital heart defect.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the field. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and make my parents proud.
