My name is Allison Moultray, and I play for the Central Washington Sounders club team out of Yakima, Washington. Growing up, soccer has always been a huge part of my family life. Starting in middle school, I began spending much of my time towards getting good enough at soccer to play for a high level, competitive program in college. Though I was immature and didn't know much about what I truly wanted (for the right reasons:), I did know that soccer was the one thing that I cared enough about to sacrifice time with friends or even other sports for. In different seasons of life, I have displayed this desire through waking up at 5:00 am in the morning before school to do touches, to doing college level workouts with my sister who plays for Gonzaga, to watching European soccer on the weekends in order to improve my game IQ, to shooting for hours at my high school field trying to perfect my curve ball... and to many other training regimens that I have made for myself. Because my soccer story has taken place in small, unknown Selah, Washington, with little access to high level soccer opportunities, I have grown up learning to train on my own with in unique and unorthodox ways. Another way my small town has effected me in my upbringing has been through my faith in God, which has been essential as I have dreamed of playing high level college soccer despite my circumstances. I believe that this quality could be an asset on any college team, as I have embodied a humble outlook on the game and a true passion for playing outside of attaining accolades or success.
The main reason for my aspirations to play college soccer is my passion of working hard and simply improving in the game. Over years of striving to obtain a good mentality in soccer, my view has shifted from the future to the present. I have grown to truly love the simple aspects of the game such as watching early morning soccer games and juggling in the yard with my sisters. I cannot imagine a future in college where I'm not able to do all of these things that I love with the support of a team and program around me. I have full intentions of glorifying God FIRST along my journey, my goal is to consistently keep my values in the game aligned with my faith.
My GPA is a 4.0, and I challenge myself academically by taking every college in the classroom course that is offered at Selah High School. I also contribute to my school by serving as the Communications Director in our schools's National Honors Society and helping out with events through ASB. As far college is concerned, not only do I have high aspirations to do well in soccer, but to work hard in school as well. I look forward to continuing my passion, commitment and dedication at the next level.
