My name is Tess Keyes. I am the captain for Spokane Sounders’ G05 Rave A team. We compete in the Girls Academy League. In the fall of 2021, I will be a sophomore at Gonzaga Preparatory High School. I have a 4.0 GPA while taking rigorous AP and honors courses. I was awarded the highly selective, merit-based Father Pedro Arrupe Scholarship, which is based on academic success and commitment to service for others. I recently concluded my first season on Prep’s varsity soccer team where we finished 1st place in the Greater Spokane League. Along with my high school and club teams, I play for Eastern Washington’s Elite Player Development and represented it in the ODP championships in Phoenix and Portland for the last three years. I attended the ODP regional camp in Oregon during the summer of 2019 and was invited again in the summer of 2020 and 2021. Last year, my club team competed in RCL Division 1 and qualified for Regionals, finishing 1st place in the Northwest Champions League. In addition to my intense commitment to academics and soccer, I am a violinist and study with Maestro Mateusz Wolski, concertmaster for the Spokane Symphony. I also have a side business, Keyes & Strings (https://www.keyesandstrings.com), a piano and violin trio that provides music entertainment for private and charitable events.
My main position is the 6, although I am able to play the 4, 5, and 8 as well. I am an aggressive ball winner and distribute it quickly from one side of the field to the other. I am also a strong communicator and an effective director.
