Personal Statement
Claire is a gifted soccer goalie. Not only due to her height and extra long wing span, or natural athletic abilities, but also her hard work and understanding of the game. She sees the field well and understands how the offense operates, therefore Claire is able to communicate and coordinate her team, and use her voice. She knows how to help lessen the angle of the opponents shot on goal. Due to her height, she is easily able to force shots above her head over the top goal post. She has a keen understanding of when to put the ball back into play, sometimes quickly, other times player need to reposition first. Her skill to place a drop kick where the ball can only be retrieved by her team is amazing, both short and mid field distances. She has good learned goalie technique, when to punch the ball, when to fall on the ball, kneeling down to receive a ground ball, keeping herself between the play and the goal. Claire is a confident goalie with all around skill.
