I live in a small town in Washington State with little or no exposure to outside influences in the world of sport. But the coaches of the middle and high school soccer programs are tremendous, dedicating themselves to teaching and preparing the girls for not only prospering in their athletic abilities but mastering their academic achievements as well. Presently, I attend a private school and making it to practices and matches for the high school has been challenging. But my love for the sport and desire to succeed has helped me to see this obstacle more as a ladder for success rather than a bothersome effort.
I started playing soccer at the age of seven years old and became interested in the sport mainly because of my father’s influence. And I realized very quickly while playing in the local recreational leagues that I was naturally gifted in running, passing, dribbling and controlling the ball with ease. Even though I have received positive feedback from others, my natural talent and abilities are not measures that I rely on, but hard work, making it to practices on time, staying late, and listening to my coaches became the hallmark of my success. I believe that I have the talent to compete for a college team at the highest level and will give more than a hundred percent in practices and matches for the team and coaches.
