Hello, I am Alyssa Thomas and I am part of the 2024 graduating class at Waunakee High School in Wisconsin. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old and I have always dreamed of playing soccer at the next level. I mainly play attacking or holding center midfield. I also have experience playing wide midfield or center forward. I am a very flexible player and am willing to play any position as I have excellent footwork, vision of the field, and decision-making ability.
I started playing soccer club for FC Wisconsin ECNL 6 years ago. When I was 12 years old I realized that I wanted to join a more competitive program and ever since I have been traveling 1.5 hours for practice from Waunakee, Wisconsin to Germantown, Wisconsin. I am very lucky to be coached by coaches Andy Lee and Christian Lavers who have helped me develop into the player I am today. Their training environment, player development, and competitive focus have all helped prepare me to achieve my goal of playing Division 1 college soccer. This next season I will continue playing for the U18 team for my last season.
As a freshman, I was a starting player on varsity at my high school where I played attacking center midfield. As a sophomore, I also played attacking midfield, where I scored 18 goals and recorded 10 assists. I was also able to help my team earn a spot in the 2022 Division 1 state tournament. After the season I was awarded first team all-conference (Badger North), First team all-area (Madison), and I was an all state selection. Before the season, I was named to the top 50 players to watch in the state of Wisconsin, as well as the top 10 players to watch in the Madison Area. This season, I ended with 30 goals and 20 assists. I was named first team all conference unanimous for the badger east conference. I also was named my team MVP for the season and have been selected to the all state team again this year.
Additionally, two to three days a week, I do strength and speed training at Sports Advantage with Brian Bott( Former UW Madison Strength and Conditioning coach).
When I am not playing soccer I enjoy traveling, hanging out with friends and family as well as spending time up north on the lake. I am not exactly sure what I want to major in, but I am thinking something in the medical field.
