Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Mya, and I started playing soccer at the age of 5.

I have always been a driven soccer player. I know players often struggle with mental blocks, and although I sometimes do as well, I use it as motivation to push me to become an even better player. When I see other people working, it makes me want to work 100x harder. Working even when I don’t want to is what sets me apart from other players. Most importantly, communication, dedication and respect are key attributes that I bring to my team.

Academically I do very well in school.  Even though playing collegiate soccer is a huge goal for me, I am excited to study a science major.  I will strive to balance soccer and academics at the university I attend.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
