Kelsey Nelson '15 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Kelsey Marie Nelson and I am an 18 year old female. I am a senior at Hamilton High School in Chandler, AZ. I am 5' 5" and weigh 130 pounds. I swam on a club team in Pocatello, ID for about nine years until I moved to Arizona this year and joined a club team that I will swim with until I go off to college. I swam on a high school swim team for my first two years of high school, took a year off, and will be swimming high school again this fall with my school in Arizona. I am an excellent leader wherever I go. We have no captains on my club team because my coaches believe that we all should equally act as leaders.

I have always wanted to swim in college. I have thought about it ever since I finished swim lessons at seven years old. I would like to go to school some place warm because I don't like to be cold, and am not a big fan of the snow. I love summer and warm weather, but I am used to the cold from living in Idaho. So any school, no matter the climate, is good with me. I also don’t care what size town or city I live in because I adapt easily to my environment. I would like to go to school in a college that has good academics. I am a 4.0 GPA student and currently I hope to go into forensic science or medical science. I am open to whatever division schools are interested in me, so I don’t have a preference. I am a Christian girl, but again, I don’t have a preference to a certain type of religious school. I would like to swim throughout college and I am striving to compete at the highest level of swimming I can get. I also hope to be a leader for my team in every way possible, and to be a good example for my peers and the community.
