Personal Statement
My name is Ciara Jenkins and I am a senior at Mesa High in Arizona. I swim for Phoenix Swim Club, a Gold Medal swim team. In December we got 2nd overall at Junior Nationals. I am a 100 and 200 breaststroker, the 200 being my personal favorite. I want to swim in college because I know I have a lot more in me, and want to get my Trial cut. I have only been swimming club since I was 12 years old but have enjoyed every minute of it! I'm very open with my college choice and am a very dedicated person. This past year I got 3rd at our Highschool State Championships in the 100 breaststroke, made it back in both breaststrokes at Short Course and Long Course Sectionals, and came 0.3 seconds away from my Junior National Cut (Unshaved/Untapered). I have been my highschools team captain the past two years and have gotten Swimmer of the Year award since Freshamn year. For my club team I recieved the Coaches award from my coach Dave Gibson. I am not decided with my Major, but I am leaning towards Physical Therepy or Pychiology. Thanks for your time!
