My name is Axana Merckx, I have been swimming for 10 years and since the very beginning my goal has been to reach the top level of swimming.  I am dedicated, strong and hardworking, I put 100% into everything I do and I strive to reach the top. Not only am I a supportive teammate, I am a leader and I value supporting my teammates successes as much as my own. I am not afraid to push myself to the limit because I want to become one of the best. I am strong-willed, I do not back down from a challenge and because of that I am able to maintain a strong GPA while competing at a high level in swimming. I am ready to take the next steps in both my academic and swimming career and I cannot wait for the opportunity to swim at a college level.
