Kady Stout-Ryder '22 Recruiting Profile

 When I was 9 years old, I began truly learning the sport of swimming. I watched the 2012 Summer Olympics and became fascinated by the swimmers, which inspired me to join a summer swim camp. I was coached and taught proper form, turns, and strokes. I loved being in the water and soaked up the instruction, quickly learning all the strokes. I joined the swim team, where I had my first taste of being pushed physically, competing and motivating myself to go faster, swim harder and always continue to grow.  The coaches were impressed with how quickly I was able to learn and implement the strokes I was taught. My coaches have always told me I am “coachable,” consistent and show I try to use the tools they provide to improve myself. I am a fast learner, adaptable and always working to refine my technique. I have learned the importance of working with my team, supporting and encouraging my teammates, and setting an example by always being the best I can be.
