Personal Statement
I first learned how to swim when I was two, but did not join a swim team until I was about seven years old. At age twelve, as I learned to love competing, I joined a year round team. Since then I have continued to dedicate my time to swim and have even tried open water swim meets: Lake Tahoe in 2015, Alcatraz to SF in 2016 and September in 2017 I swam the Golden Gate. Besides club swim, I swim on the varsity team with my high school. Additionally, I played JV water polo my freshman year, moved up to the varsity team my sophomore year and played varsity water polo junior year. During my last year of high school swim, I am dedicated to progressive development of my swimming endeavors.
Not only do I devote my time to swim, but I also make sure I am challenged academically and due to AP classes, I currently have a weighted GPA of 4.2. My goals for college are to major in Marketing and Environmental Science. My ultimate goal is to be part of a college swim team where I can continue to compete and grow as a swimmer. Athletic discipline and swimming at a competitive level are integral parts of my personality and I am looking forward to pursuing them at the collegiate level. I know that I have room for improvement and look forward to the team environment at the collegiate level.
