My name is Victoria and I am on the Plantation swim team. My main stroke is butterfly and I am the only one on my team that swims it, as well as on every relay. I work hard on my swimming as well as in my education to make sure I get into the University that has what I am looking for, which is Marine Biology for a major. I would really love to get into a division 1 or 2 team. I am a good candidate because I work very hard on my swimming especially butterfly, and I am also a determined person to make sure that my stroke is where it should be at. I am a person who likes to learn new things and apply it. I used to swim back in Argentina due to swimming being an obligation at my school. I learned how to swim when I was 2. When I started attending school, which I was 4, I would go to a swimming center with my school teachers, and I always looked forward to spending my days in the water. When I moved to the USA, I had told my mom that I wanted to continue my swimming and she took me to the YMCA to try out. I was told that I should join the swim team, which I did, and that is when I discovered the competing side of swimming. When my swimming became one of my top priorities, I started watching the Olympics and I saw Michael Phelps who became my role model, but not just in swimming, but as in life generally. No words can describe the attachment that I feel and have with swimming. What makes me different from other recruits in character is that I am a very unique person who never gives up and continues to push through until she meets her goal. In my athletic side, I am different from other recruits because my second main event is the 200 fly, and that is something that not just anyone can swim and do. My academics is different from other recruits because I take Cambridge classes, which are college level classes from England, as well as honor classes.
