Emma McVicker '23 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile! I am excited to begin the college process. It is important to me to go to a college that excels in both academics and athletics. I started swimming when I was 7 years old at my local swim club and joined my club team when I was 8 when a location opened up in my area. Since then, I have developed into an extremely ambitious student and swimmer, and I love working hard for my dreams. Every day at practice is a new challenge for me. I enjoy doing those difficult sets that ultimately make you a better swimmer. I am the type of athlete that considers putting in the hard work for your goals as fun! I always listen to the suggestions given by my coaches because I know they are trying to help me become a better swimmer.  Additionally, I enjoy learning so I can better myself both athletically and academically. I take pride in my commitment to academics. I am able to balance both school and swimming. My goal is to continue to earn good grades and achieve my athletic goals at the same time. I have great relationships with my teammates. I encourage all of them and I love making the most out of a practice by being optimistic even if the practice is not that enjoyable. One of my favorite things about a hard set is the satisfaction you get after completing it, knowing you made it through with your best effort. After careful consideration, I have decided that I would like to pursue the Pre-Medical track for my major in college because of my passion to both help others and make this world a better place through medicine.
