I started swimming when I was 8 years old on a recreational team and I LOVED it. I even loved diving into the water, what seemed like the Pacific Ocean, at the beginning of practice. But what I love most about swimming is how difficult it is mentally and physically. There is no other sport that I have done that is harder. Through the challenges, swimming has given me another family and has made me who I am.
Swimming has taught me a few things including work ethic, how to be a leader and teammate, how to lose, how to be humble in victory, and time management. If I were given a shot at the collegiate level, I wouldn't disappoint. I would give my coaches, myself, and my teammates 100 percent, both in the classroom and in training, every single day. This is why I think I stand out from other recruits simply because I am a responsible student athlete that isn't afraid to fail. I know that if I fail I will work even harder to achieve my goals in athletics and in school.
My goals for college are to graduate with the best grades I can possibly have while building relationships with the people around me. On the athletic side of things, I want to make myself more well-rounded with my events and drop times like a hot potato. Specifically, I want to drop significant times in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, 200 IM, and the 100 freestyle.
