In college, I plan to major in Creative Writing or English, and continue that with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative writing when I finish my undergraduate college. During college, I hope to start majorly pursuing the things that I will center my life around in the future, as I have wanted to do for a long time. I hope to begin publishing my written works ad make many advancements in my swimming career to larger competitions at a national, and perhaps even international, level. Wholly, I hope college gives me experiences that will shape my life and change me for the better.
I know with being on a team of any kind, culture is such a large part of it. While it is always nice to win, the state of the people you are working with, the togetherness, the happiness, a feeling of belonging and feeling welcoming, these are of the utmost importance to me. I believe that any team working toward being better as a whole, and not just in the pool, will gain more than those simply looking to swim for speed. It takes a team, and with a sport like swimming, so dependent on mentality and focus, medal or not, the environment of a team is what will help bring success, drive hard work, and encourage all.
Other experiences I hope to gain is opportunities to study aboard and discover many new things. Whether it is traveling out of my own pocket over summers or an opportunity provided by my university, I know many things are waiting for me to find them and indulge me in a complete mode of learning and listening.
Overall, I hope to walk away from college as a better version of myself, my skills sharpened, my mind wiser, and ready to live life to the fullest.
