Throughout my 7 years of swimming I have gone through a lot of ups and downs. I have been swimming with the Jordanian National Team for 6 years, my coaches have always seen huge potential in me as it took me only 1 year of club training to get recruited into the national team. I have broken 13 national age group records throughout my career and won a lot of local gold medals, traveled to international competitions where I went to finals in every race. However I aim beyond that.
Swimming in Jordan is a very difficult thing to do, its not considered an important or vital sport here, its not cared for to the point where we struggle finding a pool to swim at. Covid-19 had a huge affect on me physically and mentally, I was very unmotivated because all the international competitions got cancelled and we were barely training so I lost all my endurance and power. In a swimmers career the Junior year and Senior year are the most important years, highest peaks, achievements and gaining international experience from competitions. I couldn't do that, I had to stop swimming 5 times throughout 1 year because of the virus. However, every time we come back to swimming I came back stronger. These stops made me realize how dedicated I am to this sport and how strong my goals are, no matter how hard things got I worked with what I had and am finally starting to se results.
I believe I can be a great candidate for university teams due to my dedication, I am a swimming nerd. I go back home after practice and I analyze every stroke I swam during that training session. My coach always says I am a quick learner I catch things quickly and keep practicing it until I get the stroke or technique right. I am also my teams DJ which makes me a very valuable candidate as I always make sure the mood is up and everyone is motivated. My dream has always been to swim with a team that makes me feel at home and I believe wherever I go I can find coaches and teammates that will make me feel at home. So I actually don't believe that all hope is lost, there is still time to become a perfect candidate, I am very dedicated to this sport.
I am also very funny.
