Personal Statement
Having been swimming for Guildford since I was 8 and winning my first national medal at 12 years old, I have undoubtedly developed a huge love for the sport, but most of all the honour of being part of a team. Although I have had some setbacks, I know I have the potential to improve, so I strive to keep going and be part of a team where we can all motivate each other through the highs and lows to achieve our best. I believe very strongly that, as someone who thrives on challenge and is goal-driven, I have a proven track record of effective organisation, dedication and resilience.
In training and racing, I compete in a broad range of events, from open water, distance freestyle, breastsroke (mainly 200) and IM, therefore can easily adapt and contribute to the team.
With regards to academics, I would like to persue my passion for maths and physics through engineering. Engineers strive to realise the seemingly unthinkable, to make possible the conceptual; it is my aim to be part of this extraordinary profession and I will work hard and with unstinting focus to achieve this ambition alongside perusing my love for swimming.
