Personal Statement
Winning the 100 Breaststroke at City Championships this past year was (so far) the highlight of my high school career. But, I know that what made that success so special was the work I had to put in to achieve that goal. After sustaining an injury my freshman year, I had to learn to be patient and persevere to achieve my goals. Now that I have fully recovered, I realize that those experiences helped me become a better athlete who takes ownership for their training and never gives up. That experience also showed me how much I love swimming and that I want to continue swimming at the college level.
I have been blessed to be part of a great club team, Crawfish Aquatics, where I have learned the importance of teamwork. The time I have spent with my teammates has helped me see the importance of being a leader and I always want to lead my teammates by example to help lift them up just as they have always done for me.
I believe I not only have the talent to compete at the collegiate level, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills necessary to make a positive impact upon your program. I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
