My passion for the sport of swimming began when I was 8 years old, swimming on my neighborhood summer league team in North Carolina. The indescribable feeling I got every time I dove in and raced as well as the amazing relationships I built in and out of the pool made me fall in love with the sport and compelled me to join a local club team. Swimming has helped me to find the strong work ethic, positivity, and confidence in myself that I have applied to all other aspects of my life. Since 2012, I have continued to set high level goals for myself to become the best athlete I can possibly be and at the same time strive to become a leader on my club team, my high school team, and in my community.

As a freshman, I helped lead my high school team to a Class B State Championship title by taking second in both the 100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle events. As a sophomore I won both the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM at Southwestern's and came in 2nd in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM at the Class B State Championship meet earning best times in both events. My weekly training consists of nine swim practices which includes three doubles plus three additional dryland sessions. My primary collegiate goal is to attend a school that offers a strong Sports Nutrition and/or Athletic Training program as well as a solid, successful swim program.
