To me swimming is more than a sport it is a lifestyle. Growing up in a family of athletes exposed me early to competition and sportsmanship. I have been swimming since age 8 and have never lost the love for striving to be better and learn. During the age of 10 I broke my leg during my swimming season which was a huge strugle mentally being out of the pool. This experience taught me how much swimming meant to me and how much it has improved my life.
In 8th grade I was given the opportunity to enter a private highschool and I started the first swim team the school had ever had. Not only have I been focused on swimming but school itself. I have always strived to have the good grades and I have been awarded the All scholastic academic and sports award for the Herald News 3 years in a row once for cross country and twice for swimming. I want to continue to find success in college by swimming and focusing on academics.
