I started swimming at the age of nine, for the the YMCA swimming club. I had joined the club to polish my forms but I soon began to love the rush of competition against my teammates and against myself. Swimming has taught me a sense of discipline to encourage myself to be the best I can be in anything I set my mind to. This same discipline is shown throughout my academics and voluntary work. Swimming has always giving me something to look forward to, providing me not only the discipline but also giving me fortitude during times of difficulty. Swimming pushes me to the limits because I love to compete and thrive to improve, even if it's a slight improvement. I also enjoy being a teammate that helps, cheer and support each other, even if we are competing against each other . I would love to be able to continue to excel myself by being able to compete at the college level, as I feel I have the dedication, character and commitment to become a great swimmer.
