I have always loved the water and considered myself a mermaid at a very young age. Growing up on the lake, my family spent their Michigan summers in the water and I could not be dragged out. I went to a small private middle school that didn’t have a pool. So in 7th grade, I decided that I was interesting in diving and participated with the public school team in the evenings. I knew when I transferred to Pinckney Community High School, I would dive for them. I was often asked to fill in for some relays when teammates were absent and was always will to do anything for my team. During my 10th grade season, although I was a good diver, my coaches suggested that I start swimming seriously instead of diving because of untapped potential they felt I had AND that is when I found my true passion. I now swim almost year round for my high school as well as compete in 2 other high school sports to stay well rounded and conditioned. Although I have only been swimming seriously for a couple years, swim has become one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me. I feel I have even more technique to learn. My swim goals are to continue to improve my technique to drop time, and look forward to being involved in college championships.
Trying to choose a college has been so exciting. I can see myself going somewhere close to home as well as venturing somewhere WARM. I am ultimately seeking a college that will not only push me as a student-athlete, but one that will allow me to build strong relationships, to create lasting memories with both teammates and coaches, and help me fulfill my dream of becoming an athletic trainer for the military.
I aspire to be a positive influence to everyone I encounter. My favorite organization to support is Special Olympics. I participate in the polar plunge every year. I have heart and determination and am always striving to being a better version of me. I am a very outgoing person and would bring lots of energy to the team! Overall, I am an easy going girl who loves to have fun, but also knows when and how to be serious. As a coach, you will not find a harder working or more ethical athlete. I want to be part of a program that strives for excellence and considers each other family. I am ready to dedicate 110% to myself to my next journey of becoming a college student-athlete.
