Swimming has always been a huge part of my life. I started swimming when I was 6 years old because of the fun atmosphere of summer club swimming. Although swimming is so much different now, I am so grateful that the fun atmosphere got me into the sport. Swimming has shaped the person I am today helping to teach me about commitment, time management, dedication, and hard work. It has also produced some of my greatest memories and my teammates are some of my closest friends.
I have applied my work ethic in the pool to school, as well. In particular, swimming has made me realize the importance of time management. I have had to work hard to maintain a 4.08 GPA while taking AP classes and managing training at the same time. This drive has taught me valuable lessons that I will carry on with me to college. I am looking for a college that has the right balance of competitive academics and athletics, and most importantly a great team atmosphere.
