Personal Statement
I joined my first swim team nine years ago to spend time with friends. Since then, my love for the sport has only grown, and community has stayed one of the most important parts. One of my main goals for collegiate swimming is to be a part of a swimming family like I am now. Being able to look up to my fellow swimmers and, eventually, have younger swimmers look up to me has been so meaningful. My swimming family taught me how to work as a team and be committed to the sport. Years of difficult practices have made me physically and mentally strong. I pride myself on not giving up easily and always putting my best foot forward. This approach has carried through all the aspects of my life, including academics. My grades reflect my mentality, and I am always working towards improvement.
