Personal Statement
Ever since my first race as a competitive swimmer at the age of 6, I knew this was a sport that I had a passion for and wanted to pursue. Its been 9 years since my first swim meet and I am still just as in love with the sport as I was then. Swimming to me is not just a sport but a way of life, and something that has taught me to dive into my problems head first, to keep pushing past any obstacles in life no matter the difficulty, and to finish strong in every thing you do. I not only keep this mentality with me in the pool, but in my academics as well. I understand that being proficient in the classroom is just as important as being proficient in the pool. I challenge myself with honors classes and hope to enroll in AP classes in my future high school years. During the winters months of the school year I am also apart of my high school swim team. One of my favorite things about high school swimming is the team aspect and camaraderie of all the swimmers involved. I would love to be apart of a college that will deliver the team atmosphere that I love being around. Being apart of a team in swimming is a huge part of the process to me and I would love to attend a school that will challenge me in the pool, the classroom, as a leader, and as a teammate.
