Helena Goss '25 Recruiting Profile

My swimming career started in 2019, and while I have not been swimming long it has become part of me. The team is my family, the practices are my escape, and every meet, no matter the results, will always be a reward. When it comes to the team and my teammates there is no group of people I would rather be with, I would do almost anything to help them and the coaches. Practice is a place where I can really just put my head down and not have to focus on everything else, practice is a place where I feel calm and collected, where I strive every day to become the best athletic version of myself. Every meet I get to swim at is always rewarding, especially qualifying meets, because I might not always have the best meet or get that best time I wanted, but I get to reflect on how far I've come as an athlete and as a person. 

Learning another thing I value. As an athlete I will always find time to both swim to the best of my ability and learn to the best of my ability. I take part in my school's chapter of the Nation Honor Society, meaning I must hold high grades and stay on track in school. Learning also has to do with experiencing different things and always being curious, I always want to know more about the world. I also love to learn about me, learning about what I have to offer the world is always exciting to me.

For the future my goal is to help others, I want to be a part of something bigger than myself.
