Personal Statement
I have been on the Keene NH YMCA swim team since I was seven or eight years old, taking swimming lessons since I was two. I am at the pool five days most weeks, seven days some weeks with meets. Through my high school years, I also swam for my high school (though I'm homeschooled) team, spring season with the Keene YMCA Dolphins, and summer season with the Brattleboro Swim Team (VT) in addition to my usual winter YMCA season (which begins in the fall). I might have gills.
Swimming keeps me focused academically. I apply much of the same attention to detail and dedication to improvement to my studies as I do to my strokes and times. I greatly value my coaches' feedback, and work quickly to integrate their instruction to refine my strokes.
