Anna Marie Harding '21 Recruiting Profile

As a young kid, my parents put me into several different sports to try then out. None really were a fit until I started taking swim lessons, and my instructor encouraged me to join a local year-round team. In the water, I found my fit – my home. My love of swimming started early as I had an amazing coach who cared as much about me outside of the pool as in the pool. Over the years, I believe one of the key reasons that my love for this sport has continued to grow is my swim family. This group of people creates a supportive and motivational atmosphere, and I aspire to join a program that fosters this same type of community, under the guidance of a strong coach who can serve as a role model.

When I dream about attending college, my dream is not complete without swimming in college. Attending a college where I can be a student-athlete in a competitive academic environment is my ultimate goal. The sport of swimming requires commitment, dedication, perseverance and hard work. I strive to demonstrate these attributes also outside of the pool. In school, I am taking the most advanced course load offered at my school, while also serving as a class officer. I am excited about finding a program that will challenge me in the pool and in the classroom during my collegiate years.
