February 2015Personal Statement
I am very much looking forward to my college experience. I have learned how to study and prepare for a difficult course load and am anxious to become part of a college and healthcare community. I haven't yet determined my exact field of study within the healthcare profession, but am leaning strongly towards Nursing or Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy.
Besides my school work, I am an active volunteer as a Guest Ambassador at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh. This activity brings me a lot of joy knowing that I can help others in times of trouble. My experience as a volunteer has strongly influenced my decision to pursue a career in the healthcare field. I am also active in my church at North Raleigh United Methodist and enjoy attending conferences and retreats with my youth group.
I am an extremely hard worker in the pool as well. I have overcome many adversities in my swimming career and feel that my best swimming is still ahead of me. I look forward to being a strong contributor on whichever college team selects me.

- Leesville Road Girls finished tied for 9th in the state with 94 points. My 200 Freestyle Relay team came in 4th with a time of 1:37.44. I was lead-off swimmer for both the prelims and finals with an official time of 24.64 in prelims and an unofficial time of 24.25 in finals (timing system malfunction in finals prevented getting official split times). I swam this meet unshaved and untapered, as my coaches are preparing me for NCS Senior Short Course Championships February 19th-22nd.
