Swimming has been a part of my life for 9 years. It has taught me so many life lessons such as patience, mental toughness, and gratitude. The summer going into my sophomore year, I suffered from a shoulder injury. Although it was very difficult, my love for the sporty grew immensely. I learned that you can grow as an athlete and as a person by working hard in the situation you are faced with even if they are not ideal situations. I learned to appreciate adversity because, in the end, it will make you stronger. Out of swimming I am involved in Fellowship of Christan Athletes and 4-H. I am currently the treasurer for my 4-H club and I show animals in the fair. Along with swimming, 4-H has taught me a lot about responsibility and time and effort produce good results. I am looking forward to continuing my education and swimming career and learn the many more lessons that swimming has to offer.
