Personal Statement
Swimming has taught me determination, perseverance, and has engrained into me the idea of working hard to get to end results. I displayed this in the past year when I was able to make Districts as a Freshmen in the 100 Fly. I have been apart of USA swimming since I was 10 years old and have been swimming year round for four years. Throughout my swimming career I have showed my positive attitude and upheld my strong opinion on the ideas of teamwork. Teamwork is sometimes lost in swimming due to it's individual nature, but results are multiplied greatly with a team atmosphere. My coaches have commended me for my work ethic and resilience. I spend my summers coaching younger kids and teaching them the basics of swimming. Through this, I have learned how to become adaptable to many different situations, prioritize, organize, and lead. Working with these kids throughout the summer has emphasized my desire to be a role model in and out of the pool. Outside of the pool, I am holding a board position on Key Club and a membership in Spanish Club. I am constantly working to uphold my 3.9 GPA with the Honors classes I am taking.
