Placing 5th in the Ohio State Championships along with the girls in my 200 free relay, was the highlight of the end of my junior year in which boosted my confidence in finding a program that will challenge me even further. Swimming allows me to become strong-minded as a person, as well as it teaches me to learn the importance of having perseverance. I find that setting small goals for myself throughout the season, whether it's during a specific set in practice or setting a time in which I want to achieve, allows me to build good work habits. Although I prioritize my time finding ways to improve in the pool, I also find the importance of prioritizing school work and grades; I try to find the right balance between both of them. If I had to use one word to describe myself as a high school athlete, I would use the word "driven".
After I graduate, I hope to fit into a program that challenges me both athletically and academically. Not only do I believe that my skill in the sport allows me to compete as a college athlete, but also my leadership skills and commitment to the sport. I contribute my passion of swimming to every teammate, every family member, and every coach who has guided me to become the athlete I am today. I hope to find the right program that will allow me to build myself both physically and mentally.
