My name is Cadence Johnston, a trilingual, biracial, swimmer and student. I’m always working to improve my own self being, swim goals and academic goals. I’m an extremely hard worker, and fully commit to what I am doing. I wish to compete at college level swimming while also studying psychology, which after college I can create a lifestyle and image for myself always supporting the school I go to.
Swimming changed my life, with the closely tied races and adrenaline rush of pushing your body to the limit. Swimming tested my mental strength and performance. Swim has made me so determined to succeed and also created my strong work ethic.
My goal since I was little was to swim beyond high school and in college while achieving my academic goals and needs. I strive for competition and the love for the sport has always kept me passionate about swimming and looking for new ways to be a better swimmer and teammate and that’s why I am considered an asset to the team. I am a role model to many, creating a safe and postive environment. Team culture has always been important to me and pushing my teammates and myself to be the best versions of ourselves is one of my many strengths. I care about my team and am always looking for ways to improve. I am very coachable and am very reliable.
Not only is the sport held close to me but so are the relationships and knowledge swimming has given me, training myself to be a student-athlete and setting goals and to have fun with a sport i hold so close to me. It’s safe to say i wouldn’t be the person I am without swimming.
