I am Ashley Taylor, a current senior at McDowell High School in Erie, Pennsylvania. I have been swimming since age 9 and continue to do so. I became much more serious about swimming once I reached high school and joined the Varsity Swim Team in 9th grade where I went to Districts. From then on out I've pushed myself harder and harder to improve myself as an athlete. Since then, I've gone to States 2 years in a row and plan to make it a third this year. At States this past year, I almost scored, missing the cutoff by .02 seconds, but am determined to do so this year. I swim year round now, and lift on top of my water workout. Throughout my high school career, I have taken 11 first place medals and 7 second place. In addition to this, I was awarded the Donald Locke Award in my sophomore year (one of our team awards) for outstanding performance and determination. While athletics are extremely important to me, I also value my education highly. I have a 3.8 GPA and am enrolled in all Honors and Advanced Placement classes. While I am currently waiting to take my SAT and ACT (could not take previously due to funeral during scheduled test dates), I did score a 1410 on my most recent PSAT and have been studying to score even higher on the real test. I thank you for your time and hope to be a dedicated member of your team someday!
