Hi,
My name is Hillevi Esquilin. I am currently 17 years old, and in my Senior year of High School, at North Kingstown High School in Rhode Island.
I did not always live in Rhode Island my whole life, in fact, I moved across the country going into the start of second grade. This, was all the way from Tempe, Arizona to Charlestown, Rhode Island.
I then later attended Chariho Regional Middle School and finally pursued the rest of my academic career at North Kingstown High School. I have taken Honors classes all of the years I have been at North Kingstown. My most recent classes this year include AP Psychology, Topics in Literature Honors, Human Anatomy and Physiology Honors, Spanish 5 Honors, Personal Finance and Wealth Management Honors and Statistics.
Luckily, North Kingstown High School is known to have a strong and welcoming swim team and I could not wait to join. This is where I joined the Varsity Swim Team competing in my main events of 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and the 50 freestyle. These events have changed regarding my times for the better, the more and more I've worked towards a goal.
I also swim for the South County YMCA, and the U.S team Liquid Space Swim Club. Of those two teams I became captain this year, guiding and structuring a fast, strong, and comfortable team with everyone. I am excited to see what this season awaits and to watch myself and my team becoming stronger and stronger. Without a team to be there for support and a educated and determined coach I would not have found myself so in love with this sport of swimming.
Swimming is something I will always be committed to and dedicated to, with no question of where my commitment lies.
