Personal Statement

My name is Danica Wight and I am a year round swimmer for Prime Aquatics in Maryville, Tennessee. I started summer swimming when I was six years old and began year round swimming when I was nine years old. Long distance freestyle is my specialty. I am a straight A student and always try my best at swim practice no matter the day. I believe if you always give your best effort, then it will pay off in your future races. I came in 7th place at Speedo Sectionals in the 1650 free as a freshmen and also finaled in the 500 free. I was honored to be part of the Southeastern Age Group Zone Team in the summer of 2021 and the Southeastern Open Water Zones Team in the summer of 2023. These experiences have motivated me to reach higher goals in swimming and pursue my swimming at the college level.
