Emme Spevak '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Emme Spevak. I have been swimming since I was 8 (summer league) but started competitive club swim when I was 11. I truly love the sport and grow more passionate about it each year. I’m currently a sophomore at Vandegrift High School in Austin, Texas, and have been on the varsity swim team for both of my years here. I hope to find a coach that will push me to achieve my goals throughout my 4 years in college. Also, teammates that support each other in and out of the pool. I thrive on receiving constructive feedback and encouragement from my coaches and applying corrections to technique to be better at both practice and at meets. 

Academics are also very important to me. Much like swimming, I will put in the work necessary to improve academically. As a result, I have been taking advanced classes since middle school and am currently on my high school honor role for the second year. I have been told that I am a leader by my teachers and coaches and look forward to running for high school swim team captain once I am a junior. I always make an effort to encourage people in class and on the pool deck and especially enjoy being part of a team environment. One of my favorite things about high school swimming is cheering for my teammates and making sure everyone is excited and confident in themselves during swim meets.
