Class of 2024 Competitive Swimmer with Passion for Water Safety - "I am a year round competitive swimmer and a Colin's Hope Athlete Ambassador, but I am not drown proof, " is my motto and reflective of how I see myself in the world.
I have been a competitive swimmer since age 6, with USA Swimming times. I excel in distance swim events events from 1650yd - 500yd (1,500m - 400m) Free, and 400yd/m IM. I am a solid swimmer across all events and consistently work to improve my technique throughout the seasons.
Open water swimming has been one of my favorite swimming competitions. My 10k open water swim time has been consistently under 3 hours in Lake Austin since 2020. In Sept 2021, I swam 8.49 miles open water ocean Swim for Alligator Lighthouse as a 15 year old (youngest ever to swim the event). I also participated in the 2022 Open Water Southern Zones (DeLeon, FL) competition as part of the South Texas team, I finished the 5k course with a time of 1:10:51.5. I swam in the Swim for Alligator Lighthouse (Islamorada, FL) Sept 2022, and on the Woman's Division (2nd overall) Highland Lakes Challenge (Austin, TX).
I have competed with my High School Varsity swim team at Veritas Academy for 3 years with plans to swim my Senior year also. I swam the 200 free and 500 free at State in my Freshmen and Sophomore year. As a Junior with Veritas Swim Team, I lead my team as Captain to a 3rd place finish. In individual events, I was 3rd in 500 Free and 4th in 100 Free events.
As a scholar athlete, I hope to pursue my interest in Architecture or Structural Engineering in college. I enjoy drawing and math which I would hope could translate into a career in Architectural Design. As a rising Senior, I am an NCAA early academic qualifier. My current GPA is 3.7/4.0 scale.
Along with swimming and school, I have also worked closely with a local non profit, Colin's Hope to raise water safety awareness since age 7. With my swimming talents, it provides me an opportunity to share with others the importance of water safety. I have not only participated in swim events, but also have given presentations to the community, shared the message on local TV spotlights, and carried the message with me on international travels.
I would be an asset to your school and to your swim team, bringing with me, my swim talents, academic strength and extensive philanthropic experience. I look forward to being part of a team that supports teammates, develops lifelong friendships and prepares me for a rewarding career in Architecture.
