2022 HighlightsPersonal Statement
I am lucky in so many ways. When I was 6-years-old, my family moved to a house walking distance from Rice University, where I first saw an Olympic-size pool. I remember looking through the gates, seeing the college girls practicing, and knowing that I wanted to be like them. Ever since, my parents have been nothing but supportive of me and my goals; they get up with me at 5:00 a.m. for morning practice and make me dinner when I get home after night practice. Swimming has taught me discipline and hard-work, and it has become a place of comfort where I can train with my friends and pursue my passion. I have loved swimming both Club and through school, and I am so excited to continue this journey into college. I hope to find a college that encourages academic excellence, as well as athletic growth because I have always valued education more than anything else. I can't wait to further my love for swimming and learning at college!
