McKenna Malone '22 Recruiting Profile

Swimming has been a big part of my life since I was 6 years old. My parents put me in swimming just to see how it was, but now it’s the best thing they could have done for me. I have always dreamed to succeed as a swimmer since I was little and to be able to compete at the collegiate level. I believe I have worked hard every day in the pool and out of the pool to be the best swimmer I can be.

All my coaches from high school and club swimming have pushed and helped me to be where I am now. Camille Adam’s has always been my inspiration since I was little, watching her in the Olympics. She has helped me look at a different perspective of swimming and how amazing and wonderful it really is. 

My favorite events to swim are the... 100 fly, 200 fly and the 100 back stroke.

In my swimming career, I have always set high goals for myself and pushed to get better. Everyday I still strive to continue my development as a swimmer and also to accomplish my goal at swimming at the collegiate level. 

While having success in swimming over the years, academics are important to me to be successful as well. I have worked hard to get good grades, and managing my time well, with doing swim and work outside of school. I have participated in in my schools FFA program,  which is raising animals, and other agriculture projects for Future Farmers of America.

I understand the importance of being able to swim and at the same time get good grades and a high quality education. What you get if you recruited me, is a dedicated swimmer/athlete who is also a hard working student, with a great positive attitude that works hard in and out of the water and loves being there. 

Should your program decide to invest in me,  what you would get is someone who is a dedicated student and athlete, loves being part of an amazing team and cheering everyone on. I believe that my work ethic in my academics and swimming will translate well and help contribute to the teams program.
