Lauren Cordes '20 Recruiting Profile

Honestly, my goals for college are to establish relationships with people that I can, hopefully, communicate with for life. Along with successfully completing a degree in pre-vet sciences and getting into a veterinarian school to reach my dream of becoming a veterinarian. I've always loved animals, and it would be a dream come true to be able to help ones in need.

Every time someone or something asks me to describe myself, I can never really figure out what to say without sounding vain. When my fellow friends and family are asked to describe me, they often use adjectives such as: funny, artistic, creative, out-going, hardworking, compassionate, and fun to be around. I see myself as a "people pleaser," I absolutely hate to see other people down. I attempt to comfort those in need and try my best to keep a general tone of happiness/positivity wherever I go.

I believe myself to be a team-player, I am supportive of the team as a whole and congratulate or encourage teammates as needed. Personally, I see myself as a pretty versatile swimmer, I can swim both long distances and short distances. Though, my strokes other than freestyle could use some work, but who doesn't need to improve?

I have been told my whole life that I have been, and still am, receiving a higher education by going to a private school. It is a more challenging environment, in my opinion, and will hopefully benefit me in the long run as I continue my journey into college.
