Personal Statement
HI! My name is Skyy Schuffenhauer! I am from am from a small town in Northern Utah named Tremonton! I have been swimming for almost 5 years, 3 of those years on club, and 2 on high school, in which I lettered as a freshman. I want to get an undergraduate degree in Biology Pre-Med and then further my studies in Orthopedics and eventually into Orthopedic surgery.
I have a firm belief that the ability to work hard is the best trait a person can have. I believe this is true with swimming and academics. Without effort, you won’t have the results you want to achieve. I have always found that no matter the place you take, no matter the time on the scoreboard, or no matter the grade on your test, if you can go out there and be able to truly say that you pushed it to the best of your ability, then you’re winning. Because from there you can build, work, and grow to become the person your coaches, your teaches, and you want to be.
I have a true love for this sport and I willingness to be the best swimmer I can be! I have the technique and willingness to grow exponentially over these next few years and I truly believe I have what it takes to be a collegiate level swimmer. I am very coachable and am always looking for ways that I can improve my times and technique. I want to compete at the highest level possible so that I can do my part as a college swim team member, that I can physically and mentally progress as a swimmer and student, and be a role model to those who girls who are taking their first leaps into the pool. I hope to continually grow and progress within the next few years so that I can be the best fit to swim at your school! Thank you!
