This year was my 3rd year on a high school swim team but I have been racing since I was 6 years old in a summer league. These long summers have taught me the values of leadership, commitment, and patience in sports as well as in everyday life. In fact, I am now captain to both my summer league and my high school team so that I can help the team practice and race together better. Since I like to keep busy, I manage our boy's swim team in the winter with my coaches to help bring a sense of togetherness to the boys. During the spring, I run with our school's varsity track team as a league sprinter and district pole vaulter. Throughout all my athletics I struggle with irritation in my vocal cords. This can be caused by many things, so as I try new things I expect my times to drop significantly.
Outside of sports, I mainly focus on schoolwork and improving myself mentally. Alongside my core subjects, I have chosen to be involved in our schools leadership and mentioring program to advance my social skillsets. I am also a part of Graphics club, Robotics, and Honor Society. Beyond school, I am also employed at 2 different pools as a lifeguard and swim instructor. It is my belief that having these influences in my life make a well rounded individual and allows me to mature and prepare for adulthood and all else that may come my way. When I was younger, I never imagined I would ever be good enough to be a college athlete, and now I am here! So its my goal to live out the dream of my youth and continue swimming competively for as long as I can.
